Although all accommodation at Tregynon is now in one of our exclusive, stone cottages that are generally let on a self-catering basis (please see our separate Country Cottages pages for details), those wishing to dine in the restaurant and ‘stay over’ can sometimes do so when the cottages are not otherwise let.

Since we are renowned for our traditional and vegetarian food and are open to non-residents on a prior booking only basis, it is necessary for any guests staying with us who wish to dine in the restaurant to book a table well in advance.

With the exception of local Preseli lamb, virtually everything on the menu is changed on a daily basis and prepared on the premises using, whenever possible, the very best of fresh local produce without the use of artificial additives and preservatives, etc. At certain times of the year some of the beef and lamb may well have been reared on our own land and we also traditionally ‘oak-smoke’ gammon and bacon on the premises. Vegetarian dishes are also a speciality.

Many of the main course options often take several hours to prepare and we therefore like to cook to order and consult with guests about this course the night before. Pre-dinner drinks, canapés and orders for the first course are taken in the lounge in the main Farmhouse between 7.30p.m. and 8.00p.m.

During the past 20 years or so we have been extremely fortunate in gaining many awards and much acclaim from food and travel writers both from home and abroad. Indeed, Tregynon has featured in “Here’s Health”, “The Vegetarian” and ‘The Back Page’ of the Daily Telegraph where food critic, Belinda Richardson, wrote:- “…the sort of farmhouse cooking that tastes as good as it looks, uses robust local ingredients simply handled and is served in stunningly beautiful surroundings … Hang the fashion food police – farmhouse cooking of this sort is to be cherished for more than just its rarity value.”

We are fully licensed and carry a good selection of aperitifs, spirits and quality wines from around the world. For those who wish to add the finishing touch afterwards, we also offer a range of liqueurs, cognac and port to accompany coffee while relaxing in comfort in our lounge by our open inglenook, with log fires in the winter.

Dress Code: Minimum smart casual please. Please note, experience suggests that the restaurant is not generally suitable for children under the age of eight.
